Ulrich Haas is a Professor of Procedural and Private Law at the University of Zurich (Switzerland) since 2007 and an attorney-at-law in Hamburg (Germany). As an expert researcher and practitioner in the field of sports law he regularly acts as arbitrator with, among others, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). He has acted in over 300 sports-related arbitrations. In 2018 he was appointed President of the Basketball Arbitral Tribunal (BAT). He also served as a member of the WADA Code project team that drafted the WADC 2015 and the WADC 2021. More recently, he chaired the WADA working group on governance and the IBA governance reform group. Furthermore, Professor Haas does extensive consultative trial work as well as legal opinions in the field of sports law.
